Live Club Friday, 5th of September: Michael Bleu!
Charismatic and soaked in nostalgia, Michael Bleu has become a favorite among soul lovers, indie fans, and classic pop enthusiasts alike. His breakout hit Oi Oi dominated radio waves, from Radio Suomi to Suomipop, and racked up over 700,000 Spotify streams—earning him a spot on the platform’s viral charts. On stage, Bleu and his five-piece band deliver a vibrant mix of funk grooves, explosive soul, and sharp-edged guitar rock. He’s also made waves beyond his own music, from performing at Elämän biisi to producing Pete Parkkonen’s Syntisten pöytä for Vain elämää.
With his fifth album, Futuristik Soul (2023), Bleu takes his signature retro sound to new heights, blending vintage soul with modern psychedelia. The album’s lead single, Kaiken sais räjäyttää, dropped in May, followed by Ikuisuus, which became the theme song for Lapua 1976—the second most-watched Finnish film of the year. Bleu even brought the track to morning TV with a live performance on Huomenta Suomi. Whether in the studio or on stage, Bleu is a time traveler of sound, bridging past and future with style and swagger.
