Re-Dedication Ceremony for Red Shift Rocker

Please join the Holter Staff and Helena Community for a re-dedication ceremony of the iconic 'Red Shift Rocker' sculpture located on the corner of Cruse and Lawrence streets. 'Red Shift Rocker', by local artist Richard Swanson, was commissioned by Joan Holter in 2005. This summer will mark the 20th anniversary of the sculpture. To commemorate this piece of art, a new slab of concrete will be poured, raising the sculpture 18 inches. The sculpture will also receive a new coat of paint, protecting the sculpture from the weather for another 20 years, enhanced lighting and new interpretive signage! Funds for this improvement project were awarded through the City of Helena’s Downtown TIF Grant. Thank you to the City of Helena, All Around Construction for the concrete work, and Hjelm’s Auto Body for the restoration work on the sculpture. Please join us as we honor Richard Swanson and launch the Holter into a new era of celebrating creativity.
