'LOST FOR WORDS' + Live Q&A with Jackie Morris

Inspired by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris’ much-loved book 'The Lost Words,' the film traces the disappearance of everyday nature-words such as “acorn,” “otter,” and “bluebell,” asking: how can we care for something we cannot name?

Journeying through the UK’s seasons, 'Lost for Words' blends science and poetry to explore how language, memory, and imagination shape our bond with the living world. This poetic documentary invites us to reflect on our connection with nature, guided by the voices of children, elders, artists, scientists, and activists.

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with the celebrated artist and illustrator Jackie Morris, the award-winning Pembrokeshire-based artist, illustrator, and writer whose spellbinding paintings in 'The Lost Words' have inspired readers of all ages to reconnect with the magic of the natural world.
