2025 Juneteenth Gala - "People Get Ready!"

The Amistad Center for Art & Culture and our 2025 Juneteenth Gala Chair, Francine Austin, are proud to announce the 34th Annual Juneteenth Gala, themed “People Get Ready!” With our presenting sponsor, The Hartford, we bring a vibrant celebration of Black culture, freedom, and community. Taking place at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art on June 7, 2025, this perennially sold-out event brings together individuals passionate about the Center’s mission and dedicated to cultural enrichment and social impact. There will be a special remembrance of Amistad Center Trustee Ellis Echevarria, Spirit of Juneteenth Awards, live music, dinner, cocktails, dancing under the stars, and more. Formal and Afro-centric attire are encouraged.

Our festivities will include the opening reception for our new exhibitions, Yoruba World and Wendel A. White: Manifest | Thirteen Colonies.
