About our Bachata instructor Annie :
Originally from Montana, Annie began her partner dance journey in a college ballroom class, but it was during her years in NYC that she fell in love with Bachata. Immersed in the city’s vibrant Latin dance scene, she developed a strong foundation in sensual bachata, with a focus on musicality, fluid styling, and deep connection in the partnership. Her passion for community also led her to organize events that celebrated social dance and supported local artists. In 2021, she discovered UrbanKiz and Kizomba, drawn to their grounded, soulful energy—and has since grown as an UrbanKiz artist known for her intentional movement and creative style. Now based in the DMV, Annie continues to teach, perform, and collaborate across disciplines, blending her love of dance, Pilates, and yoga. In her classes, she invites dancers to explore subtlety, connection, and expression—honoring tradition while making space for personal artistry and innovation.
