Please join your fellow members of the Historical Society of Dauphin County for the 156th Annual Membership Meeting. There will be brief remarks, election of Trustees, recognition of volunteers and most importantly...food and great company!
Following the meeting, there will be a lecture given by the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation Executive Director Samuel Sweet. Sam will speak on "Historic Organizations & Museums in the 21st Century."
Sam Sweet joined the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation (PHF) as Executive Director in September 2023 to strengthen the organizational capacity of this independent, statewide non-profit to increase awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the deep and rich history of the Commonwealth.
Sam has deep experience leading non-profit cultural and educational organizations through transformative change, growth, and greater impact. His leadership experience includes Quintessence Theatre in Philadelphia, Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, Atlas Performing Arts Center in the H St NE corridor of Washington DC, Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art and Design, Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, and The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. Sam holds a MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a BA in Art History from Columbia University.
