Sunday Family Fun-Day - November 30, 2025 - 9 am – 4 pm

Still full of Thanksgiving stuffing?

Come to our Visitor Center at the end of the road on Harkers Island for a breath of fresh air and family fun activities! We have 2 self-paced activities to choose from that will earn rewards once complete.

Pick up a special “Eye Spy” nature trail edition and take a walk! Our Core Sound Loop Trail offers stunning views as it winds along the shore and through the maritime forest. Ever seen a ghost forest before? Find one along this trail, learn more about it and participate in a Citizen Science project!

Not feeling up for a walk? Complete our Harkers Island Visitor Center scavenger hunt to learn about the cultural and natural history of Cape Lookout National Seashore. Take time to view our park movie “Ribbon of Sand” and explore our exhibits.

Complete one activity to earn a limited-edition Junior Ranger sticker! Complete both activities and earn a specialty Island Investigator badge!
