Writing workshops will be held in Hardwick at the Jeudevine Memorial Library on Thursday, July 10 and 17, at 7 PM, for people affected by the summer floods, which is all of us.
Whether folks were directly affected by the floods or witnessed their town or neighborhood reeling from the outcomes of the floods, these workshops provide a place to tell our stories, process our thoughts, share what we went through, put our words down on paper, remember, laugh, be grateful and be with one another.
Bess O'Brien from Kingdom County Productions and Writers for Recovery will lead the workshops.
There will be two workshops, on Thursday, July 10 and Thursday, July 17, at 7 PM. The workshops are FREE. You are welcome to attend one or both.
The workshops will consist of 7-minute writing prompts, where we will write together and share memories, struggles and the process that we are going through as individuals, families and as a community to heal from this difficult experience. Through writing and sharing, we help each other as we recover.
You don't need any writing experience. The workshops provide a safe and powerful space to share stories. And a place for laughter and fun, too! Open to anyone- Just bring pens and paper! These workshops are held in partnership between Writers for Flood Recovery, the Jeudevine Memorial Library, and the Town of Hardwick.
