It's Not Just a Quill Box - History Talk

Renowned local quill work artist Yvonne Walker Keshick (a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians) presents a look at process of creating quill boxes - including the connection this art form forges between the artist and the natural world, their cultural traditions and their spirituality.

Keshick will share all the steps involved in the art's creation from gathering of materials (sweetgrass, birch bark, porcupine quills, etc.) to the process of stitching with the quills and building the boxes.
