An Evening with Havilland, Detroit’s Only Undiscovered Rock Supergroup

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨—HAVILLAND IS BACK! Sort of. It’s the 10 year anniversary of the last official reunion show, so why not? Please join us Saturday, October 11th for “An Evening With Havilland, Detroit’s Only Undiscovered Supergroup” at Ghost Light in Hamtramck.

For those who don’t know or need a refresher, Havilland is the band Dennis Proctor, Chad Roberts, Paul Fisher and Sam Forsyth were in back in the 2000s. They released a collection of home recordings and one critically acclaimed studio album produced by Jim Roll and then promptly called it quits. But they’ve remained best friends and still occasionally play music together, so that’s what this is.

What this show will be: Chad, Dennis and Sam will play solo sets of songs they’ve written over the years + Havilland songs. They will be joining each other throughout each set and Paul will be jumping in on guitar and maybe other instruments for many songs. You will likely hear stripped down and reimagined versions of Havilland classics, as well as some unreleased/rare songs and occasional full band renditions. All star drummer Kevin McCarty will be contributing along the way. It will be a fun packed night with three great sets of music. PLUS, the legendary comedian Jesse Popp will be kicking off the night and serving as the event’s M.C.—something he did at the first ever Havilland show back in 2002!

What else? Sam Forsyth has an incredible new solo album out and will play songs from that live for the first time since its release! Chad Roberts will perform a collection of his hits going all the way back to the Havilland demos, which include some of the greatest Chad tunes. Dennis Proctor will play songs from his recent releases, some unreleased Havilland songs and tracks from his upcoming album.
