About the play🎭
A powerful and deeply human drama that explores the unlikely bond between two men from very different worlds. Jimmy is a sharp-tongued, no-nonsense WWII veteran living out his final years in a residential home. He’s not exactly thrilled when David, a new young carer with no warning and even less experience, is suddenly assigned to him.
Their first encounter is awkward, bristling with tension and clashing personalities. But as the days unfold, so too do their stories — revealing buried history, unexpected tenderness, and the long shadows cast by the past. What begins as a reluctant companionship gradually becomes something richer: a complex, hard-won friendship that forces both men to confront who they are and where they’ve come from.
