Beginner-friendly course in Brazilian Zouk.
If you have ever witnessed the magic of Zouk, this is the way to try it.
Those new to learning Zouk may join in the first two weeks. From week 3 onwards, the course is closed to newbies.
These classes are rotational, so you do not need to bring a partner.
Dates: Thursday evenings 4th September to 23rd October 2025
Time: 8–9 pm
Venue: St James Church, 82 Nixon St, Hamilton East.
On-street parking only.
Cost: $10 per person per class or buy a concession card and save.
Concession card prices: 8 x classes $60, 16 classes $110,
24 classes $150.
Cash and bank transfer accepted.
What to expect
This 8-week course focuses on the fundamental movements and techniques of the partner dance, Brazilian Zouk, with social dancing in mind.
It is a course for beginner dancers and those wanting to improve their basics.
To allow the course to progress, new dancers of Zouk may join in the first two weeks of the course. Starting in week 3, no new beginner dancers will be able to join.
What to bring
Please bring a water bottle, snack, and warm layer for after class.
What to wear
It is recommended that dancers wear clothing that is easy to move in and breathable.
Flat shoes or dance sneakers are recommended for this course.
Please no black soled street shoes, as these mark the church floor.
