This term, we are doing something a little different.
The Improvers Plus Bachata course and the Bachata Bay Salsa team will be combined and taught at 8.30 pm on Tuesday evenings.
This means that if you want to do the team, you must attend the Tuesday classes, but if you want to come and learn the moves, and NOT perform, that is ok! WE WANT YOU 😊
The team choreography is a fun, upbeat number taught from the perspective of social dancing, so all the moves can be done on the social floor. We want to see you practicing them on Wednesdays during our social night!
If you are someone who wants to improve their understanding of Bachata dance, or work on being a better leader or follower on the social floor, this is the place to be.
Please note, this course is not suitable for beginner dancers or those without knowledge of Bachata dance.
Class dates: Tuesday evenings, 2nd September to 21st October
(Team members, there are extra Sunday practices required.
4pm – 6pm, 21st, 28th September, 5th, 12th, 19th October.
Extra practices cost $12 each or $60 in total.)
Time: 8.30–9.30pm
Venue: St James Church, 82 Nixon St, Hamilton East.
Cost: $10 per person per class, or buy a concession card and save.
8 x classes $60, 16 classes $110, 24 classes $150.
Cash and bank transfer accepted.
For team members, you can pay $120 or use a concession card for Tuesday classes and pay an additional $60 for the five additional Sunday practices.
What to expect
This 8-week course will delve into detail on how to lead and follow, musicality, timing changes, and incorporate Sensual, Dominican, and Moderna Bachata.
There will be no aerials, but simple dips, leans, and drops will be taught.
What to bring
Please bring a water bottle, snack, dance shoes and a warm layer for after class.
What to wear
Please wear light weight clothing you can move easily in.
As this class covers more advanced techniques it is highly recommended that proper dance shoes be worn.
Ladies you will be turning, spinning, etc and will need shoes that allow you to do this.
Leads please no black soled street shoes.
