Format: Unified Teams Pauper, Swiss Rounds (Top 4 Cut at 9+ teams, Top 8 Cut at 17+ teams)
Unified Teams format-specific rules for deck construction and play:
Except for cards with the 'Basic' supertype, no two decks on a team may contain the same card, based on its English card title. For example if one player is using Naturalize in their deck, no other player on that team may use Naturalize in their deck. Cards that override deck construction rules (e.g. Relentless Rats) may only override them for one deck on a team.
The Pauper ban-list applies to this event.
Each player in a team is assigned a letter (A, B, or C) at registration.
In each round against another team, matches are played against the opponent with the same letter, i.e.
Team 1 Player A vs Team 2 Player A
Team 1 Player B vs Team 2 Player B
Team 1 Player C vs Team 2 Player C
Each pairing plays a best-of-3 match. The winner of each match earns 1 point for their team. Draws and losses earn 0 points. The total team score decides the winning team for that round.
Team members may communicate with their teammates at any time, with the following exception:
Team members who have had an opportunity to acquire hidden information (e.g. by speaking to spectators after their own match while a teammate is still playing), are restricted from communicating with teammates for the duration of that round.
Team Prizes:
Winning Team: Wilds of Eldraine Draft Booster Box
2nd Place: 15x Booster Packs
3rd & 4th: 9x Booster Packs
5th onward: 3x Booster Packs
PLUS random draws for spot prizes throughout!
The Pauper format has been a local community favourite since regular events started in 2022 and has ballooned in popularity, continuing to be varied and exciting with a broad range of decks winning the top spot throughout the years. We're excited to continue hosting this event on the last Sunday of every month, excluding December, for the rest of 2025!
