Unlike my other groups, this group is not about learning what treatments to apply, and is more about holding space for each other. There are seasons in our parenting journey. Sometimes we are simply overwhelmed, and need a space to normalize our experience, know we are not alone, realize how we have been trying to accomplish the impossible, all by ourselves, because people don’t seem to understand what our kids really need, and what they need is not what mainstream provides. We also have our own wounds, that we have yet to heal, and this is a space where it is ok to be a work in progress, because we all are. When we let go of things we no longer need to carry, it becomes easier to do what we need to do, well-supported, knowing we are not alone, other people have values that are similar to ours (and it’s ok if their values are different).
