JHSHBA presents Telling Canada's Story, an evening with Mike Downie
Mike Downie is a multi-award winning documentary filmmaker and the co-founder of The Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund, a registered Canadian charity dedicated to bringing Indigenous and non-Indigenous folks together to build a better country.
Mike is the brother of beloved Canadian artist and Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie. Most recently, Mike directed and produced The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal, a powerful exploration of the band’s legacy and its deep connection to Canada’s cultural identity.
Join us for a captivating evening as we delve into Canada's rich history with the one and only Mike Downie. Get ready to be inspired, educated, and entertained as Mike shares his insights and stories and explores how our individual and collective stories define us, remind us of our past and shape our future. Leading us on a never-ending journey inwards, onwards, and upwards.
