Celebrate Matariki with a Weaving Session – Hosted by Te Kōhao Health

Join us as we welcome the Maaori New Year with a special weaving session hosted by Te Koohao Health.

✨ Why We Celebrate Matariki
Matariki is a time to reflect, remember, and reset. It’s a celebration of the Maaori lunar new year, marked by the rising of the Matariki star cluster. We come together to honour those who’ve passed, give thanks for the present, and share hopes and aspirations for the year ahead.

🧵 Weaving is a symbol of connection – between people, the land, and our stories. Through this session, we celebrate the strength of whānau and community, and the cultural practices passed down through generations.

When: June, 19th 2025 - 12.30pm to 2pm

Where: 126 Comries Road, Chartwell Cooperating Church

Hot drinks and nibbles will be provided. Support staff are welcome. Everyone to sign in for safety reasons. Donations welcome.
