Cycling season is in full swing and we’re loving it!!!
Dorothy of Oakville Active and Gaetan of Happy Hikers met some events ago and discovered a mutual love for cycling, coffee, and sweet treats. We have teamed up for a collaboration on a series of events where we cycle through various neighbourhoods of Hamilton exploring the sights and experiencing the dessert and coffee scene!
On each adventure we will hit up a curated list of a number of hidden gems and hot spots, giving us a chance to savour in rich roasts and salivate over sweet indulgences. All the while, earning our treats by cycling through the beautiful neighbourhoods, parks, and bike trails discovering the beauty of Hamilton and all of its curiosities.
For Café Cruise 3.0, we have an ambitious itinerary that we hope to get through! We will meet again at Bayfront Park and cycle through the neighbourhoods of Hamilton, making pit stops at cafés and bakeries to refuel.
Along our route we will make 6 stops at some incredible local cafés and bakeries serving up some delectable varieties of quality drinks, treats, and eats. Make sure you keep enough room in your bellies to tantalize your tastebuds at every stop! On our list for this round we’ve got Redchurch Cafe + Gallery, Pane Del Sole, Ola Bakery & Pastry, Coffee Run Co., Momoco Donuts, and Mikel Coffee.
Hamilton has a wealth of beautiful historic architecture given its rich history as an industrial centre, a major immigration route, and a hub for trade and commerce. It’s also home to a high concentration of hiking and biking friendly trails, lookouts, and waterfalls. A very fun fact about Hamilton, and very fitting with the theme of the Café Cruise series, it was home to the very first Tim Hortons!
