Join us on Sunday, August 17th at Joe Sams Leisure Park as we run in memory of Chris Owens, celebrating his life and legacy while raising critical funds for youth mental health services provided through St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Youth Wellness Centre. 💙🏥

About Chris 🏃♂️
On August 20, 2021, Chris Owens passed away at the age of 26 after a courageous battle with mental health and substance use. In the four years since, his spirit has continued to inspire. Chris’ commitment to his fight, his vulnerability with others, and the obstacles he overcame in coming out about his sexuality have left a lasting impact on our community. He will forever be remembered for his boundless energy, quick wit, and deep compassion. Chris’s legacy lives on through this event, and through the lives touched by the work it supports.
About the Youth Wellness Centre (YWC)
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Youth Wellness Centre is a safe(r) environment for young people between the ages 17 and 25 to receive expert care for mental health and substance use concerns. The YWC team is committed to offering culturally sensitive, trauma informed care, and to bridging the gap between the youth and adult mental health care systems – a time when young people can sometimes fall through the cracks of the system.
