Join us for a Westdale Film Society screening of A FISH CALLED WANDA, part of our Mock-busters film talk series hosted by Jeffrey Bender!
🎬British gangster George Thomason (Tom Georgeson) and his hapless aide, Ken Pile (Michael Palin), draft a pair of arrogant Americans, grifter Wanda Gerschwitz (Jamie Lee Curtis) and weapons expert Otto West (Kevin Kline), for a massive diamond heist. When the job goes badly, Wanda attempts to seduce George’s stuffy lawyer, Archie Leach (John Cleese), to find out where George hid the diamonds. Meanwhile, Ken repeatedly attempts to K*ll an elderly woman (Patricia Hayes) who witnessed the robbery.

Open to Members of any membership level, we invite you to stay after the screening as Jeff will lead a casual, guided discussion with your fellow film lovers about the movie, stories and context about its creation, and the experience of watching it in on the big screen in our historic cinema. Coffee and refreshments will also be served!
