Community Greening has teamed up with the City of Hallandale Beach and the Hallandale Beach CRA to transform Scavo Park by planting dozens of new Florida native shade trees on Saturday, September 6th!
These trees will provide cooler temperatures and added beauty to the park, and we need YOUR help to get them in the ground!
CG Arborists and our trained Tree Technicians will be on hand to lead the group, and guide/assist volunteers. No experience needed, and all skill levels and physical capabilities welcomed. We encourage anyone to join us who is interested in getting their hands a little dirty, while helping a great cause.
Community Greening will provide all of the tools needed, have work gloves to borrow, as well as water and light snacks. We’ll even have a DJ on-site to keep things fun!
Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothing that can get a little dirty. We also encourage you to wear a hat and sunscreen.
Families are welcome, all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the entire duration. Event begins at 10am, and estimated to finish at noon.
Scavo Park is located at 900 Three Islands Boulevard, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009.
Street parking is available along Three Islands Blvd.
Event will be cancelled in the event of a forecasted Excessive Heat Warning or major storm. An email will be sent to all volunteers as soon as possible in the event of these circumstances.
Volunteers should sign up in advance.
