In this group children and teens will explore challenges when it comes to transitioning from one school grade to the next. This group is centered around educating children and teens on helpful skills to manage discomfort that may result from change. The group curriculum will utilize different therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and more.
The group will be facilitated by Youth and Family therapists, Ashley Camara, MSW, LSW.
Grades: Incoming middle schoolers and incoming freshman.
Time: Incoming middle schoolers (2-3 p.m.) & incoming freshman (3-4 p.m.)
Location: Youth & Family Services, 100 S. Greenleaf St., Gurnee, IL 60031
Weeks: 4
Cost: $15 R (This group is offered to Warren Township residents only)
Warren Township Residents are welcome to apply for Needs-Based Scholarships if unable to afford the service.
