Group Somatecstatic Free Flow Dance

Somatics describes any practice that uses the mind-body connection to help you survey your internal self and listen to the signals your body sends about areas of pain, discomfort, or imbalance. Tension, trauma and emotions get stored in our bodies and often do not fully release until we engage our bodies. When approached with intention we reconnect with our bodies, tune into our internal experiences, and learn to regulate our tensions, stress and emotions without avoidance. When we start approaching our bodies with curiosity rather than with fear, everything starts to shift.

This is free form movement, or ecstatic movement, so there is no choreography or any dance experience required. This practice is all about dropping down into the body and moving how you feel called in any way that feels right to you.

This dance is best done barefoot but if you want to wear socks I would recommend wearing the socks with grips on the bottom so you don't slip. Please wear comfortable clothing as we will be doing some high energy dancing/movement. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of the event so we can get started right at 7:00pm.
