Join us in the garden with local psychotherapist and mother, Megan Curts, on August 22 as we talk about parenting with our partners. We invite you to reflect on where your relationship with your partner has been, and where it is going as you journey through parenthood. Becoming parents inherently adds stress and tension to any partnership. This time together will include skill-building for communicating your needs to your partner as a new path unfolds. We will also discuss the relationship between “connection” and “romance,” and how to build both.
Megan is a psychotherapist working at Early Wellness Group in Grosse Pointe Farms. She has a distinct passion for supporting couples and families - offering both psychotherapeutic sessions and marriage preparation sessions. Her passion for this specialty grew as she witnessed families gaining the ability to thrive through a guided understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and unique dynamic.
Megan holds a Masters of Social Work with a concentration in mental health from
Madonna University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Dayton.
She utilizes the Prepare and Enrich program for marriage preparation, and has training in
trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy as well as the Gottman Method (couples therapy).
Outside of her professional life, Megan is a wife and mother. She is a parishioner at St.
Paul on the Lake and enjoys reflecting on the intersection of faith and mental health.
Children are welcome (but coming solo is too!), and while no childcare is provided, we will have a few toys available, and the space is fully fenced-in, so they are free to run or snuggle up next to you. Bring a blanket as we’ll be circling on the grass.
