As part of National Volunteer Week and to celebrate the season of Matariki, the Ōkārito Plant Project invites you to a very special Open Day and Plant Sale — a chance to get your hands in the soil, learn new skills, grab some beautiful native plants, and connect with the kaupapa of caring for our whenua and each other.

🌱 Open House & Plant Sale
The gates open at 10am — come in and browse our wide range of eco-sourced native plants, all grown right here in Ōkārito. Every purchase supports community planting projects in Fox Glacier, Ōkārito, Whataroa, and Franz Josef. It's the perfect time of year to get plants in the ground, and our team will be on hand with planting advice and great local knowledge.

🌿 Volunteer Workshop: Potting Up & Pricking Out
Get involved with a hands-on seedling workshop and learn how we care for young plants in our nursery. Lend a hand with “potting up” and take a plant home as a thank you for your mahi.
