Nameless Writers Salon #9

The first of its kind to occur on the North Fork, Nameless is a literary salon and reading with rotating host covering a multitude of topics. Every reading is different than the last and the host guides us along the journey. We are so excited to welcome you back for our second season, created by friends & collegues Matthew Daddona & Kara Hoblin in January of 2024.

Nameless Writer’s Salon #9 - “ Life is Like a Movie” hosted by Matt Daddona”

The theme of April's reading will be Life is Like a Movie. Let's make this fun!Do you see your life as a movie? A scene? Are you a character? Are you a viewer seeing yourself on screen? Are you a viewer seeing yourself on screen aware that you're a character who's being watched by a viewer (also you)? Do you have a soundtrack in your head? Are you the hero of your own script? The antagonist? The conman? Are you scripted or are you an improvisational work-in-progress? Do you even watch movies, bro? Is this anything?

Matthew Daddona is the author of the novel The Longitude of Grief (May 2024) and the poetry collection House of Sound (2020). A former book editor and current ghostwriter, he also spends his time working at an oyster shack, volunteering as a firefighter, and installing irrigation systems. His work has appeared in dozens of publications including The New York Times, Newsday, Whalebone, Grammy.com, Fast Company, and Outside Magazine. He's never been lost because he doesn't believe in the concept of being found.
