Get to know our local animal shelter! Join us for an afternoon of animal adventures, art, and fun!
The Ontario SPCA and one of their furry friends will lead "Animal Adventures in Our Backyard: Learning, Loving, and Protecting Our Furry Friends." This interactive session will introduce the helpful community programs offered by the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society—beyond pet adoptions—while exploring local pet services like stores and veterinary offices that help keep animals healthy. Participants will also learn how to safely interact with animals in public, through engaging group discussions, games, and reflection moments designed to inspire a love for animals and teach important safety tips to young animal lovers.
Then, keep the creativity going! Attendees can join artist Julie Stephens to learn how to draw a cartoon-style dog (Disney style). Julie will guide you through the basic steps to personalize your own dog drawing, PLUS- craft a beaded collar charm to complete the creation. You’ll receive a step-by-step guide and extra fun materials to take home and colour. This is a perfect activity for beginners and anyone who enjoys drawing.
