Wild Eye Pub is pleased to bring this fine new group to our stage: Jesse Appelman's West Coast Stringband Project, on tour!
Here's a quick hello from Jesse:
Oh, hey there! It’s @appelmando here with a new band: @westcoaststringband.
I am ridiculously pumped to have dear friends and brilliant musicians @yotuck and @christinewilhoyte on board for this project. We’re brewing up some sounds that celebrate the fuzzy borderlands of bluegrass, old-time, and country.
Jesse Appelman's West Coast Stringband Project unites three standout musicians from the California bluegrass scene, crafting a sound defined by strong melodies, rich vocal harmonies, and rock-solid groove.
Their music blurs the lines between bluegrass, old-time, and country, with a focus on collective, joyful music-making. Their repertoire features original compositions alongside traditionals and gems from the Stanley Brothers, Norman Blake, Hazel & Alice, John Hartford, Larry Sparks, and more.
The group is anchored by three core musician/vocalists:
--Jesse Appelman (Peter Rowan, the Sam Grisman Project, Brothers Comatose) on mandolin;
--Yoseff Tucker (the Bow Ties) on guitar;
--Christine Wilhoyte (Laurie Lewis & Kathy Kallick, B*Craft) on banjo.
Joining them for this show will be Ryan Triolo (bass).
The West Coast Stringband Project offers a glimpse into the future of California's vibrant roots music scene, delivering an energetic live show that is deeply informed by tradition while exploring fresh textures and tones. Their spontaneous, collaborative spirit creates a sound that's both familiar and refreshingly new.
