SHINE U: Maker’s Edition is a hands-on workshop series designed to help students explore their creativity, discover new hobbies, and learn from real student entrepreneurs who’ve been in their shoes. Each session highlights the “H,” “I,” and “E” of our SHINE Framework—Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, and Experiences—helping young makers uncover what excites them and why it matters.

Even better? It’s a chance to get inspired for our 8th Annual Holiday Artisan Market Ft. Student Entrepreneurs on November 8th, where students can take what they’ve learned and turn it into something worth sharing—or even selling.

Create a toy for your favorite furry friend—then join the pet toy palooza!
Led by Olivia Bedocs, founder of Sweet Peaches, this workshop gives animal lovers the chance to make fun, hands-on toys for cats and dogs using everyday craft supplies. Olivia started her business in the 6th grade and has been fostering cats since 4th grade. She’ll share her journey of caring for animals and how creating pet toys became a way to give back and spread joy.

During this feel-good, pet-loving session, students will:

• Learn to make multiple pet toys like braided fleece ropes, cardboard wand toys, pipe cleaner springs, and TP chase toys
• Explore the connection between creativity and compassion
• Take their toys home—or donate them to Saving Hope Rescue

All supplies are provided. No experience or prep needed—just bring your love for pets and a spirit of kindness.

Please note: Each class requires a minimum of 8 participants to run and for students ages 8 and above!
