Trail Walk: Walking with the History of Public Art

Take a walk and learn about the history on the Delaware & Hudson Rail Trail! This week's program will explore local examples of public art murals and will end inside the museum with a brief tour of the exhibit that highlights the history surrounding Men Working in Slate Quarry, the WPA mural that once hung in Granville High School but now "resides" at the museum.

The outdoor walk includes about 40 minutes of moderate walking with brief stops for discussion.

The trail travels the railbed of the former Delaware & Hudson Railroad, known locally as the Slate Picker, which stretched 26 miles through the Slate Valley.

This program will originate at the access point directly adjacent to the Slate Valley Museum. Park in the museum lot and meet right outside the museum's front entrance!
