We are hosting a Workshop for worship teams with guests Steve & Joanne Cocking of SetUp2Worship.
This workshop is open to all worship and tech team members, but with a particular focus for guitarists. Through this workshop you will learn about guitar maintenance and care as well as looking at the heart of worship, your calling as a worship musician and singer, and how your worship team can grow together.
Steve & Joanne CockingOur guests – Steve & Joanne Cocking – are seasoned musicians and luthiers from Australia. Each year they serve behind the scenes at UK festivals like Big Church Festival and David's Tent, servicing and preparing the bands' guitars ready for use. They also travel internationally, hosting workshops and training for worship teams and guitarists. Steve has almost 50 years experience in the guitar world, having run a guitar shop for many years and a home-based guitar repair and servicing business. Joanne has a Masters in Creative Music Therapy and works with young people experiencing mental health issues. Together they want to serve churches and worship teams and to hear the sound of heaven released across the nations.
The workshop is just £5 per person, and all musicians, singers and tech people are welcome to come.
Optional for guitarists
Steve & Joanne will be with us for a few days and during that time they will be providing guitar servicing at £95 per guitar. Servicing includes:
* Hand fret dress and restoration of frets, crown/polish and buff to shine;
* Fingerboard rehydration and treatment;
* Fully tighten and service tuners;
* Nut and saddle restoration and profile;
* Electrical service/pot/s & switch clean & lubricate/de-ox and clean/tighten output socket;
* Adjustment of all pickup/s for correct height and balance and radius pole pieces where applicable;
* Restring, truss rod/action & harmonic intonation adjustment using a Peterson strobe tuner;
* Pre-stretch all strings to settle and prepare and play/test instrument fully;
* Full body and wood hydration, treatment and polish.
Please indicate when booking if you would be interested in a guitar service, and we will contact you with the details for booking your guitar in. You will need to provide a fresh set of strings, although Steve & Joanne do have some sets with them that you can purchase as part of the service. Your guitar will be stored securely on the premises pre and post servicing until you are able to collect.
