“Silk blooms” - a floral art making class (18+ only)

Join us for a fun and playful art class where you’ll create your own unique floral-inspired artwork on silk (framed in a circular 11” quilting hoop). You’ll learn Courtney’s signature process to make a floral inspired abstract painting on silk, using paint, fabric markers, collage and embroidery. You’ll leave class with a one-of-a-kind painting on silk that you can hang in your home or gift to someone you love.

You’ll receive a full supply list after class so you can continue creating on your own.

All supplies provided: a 11" circular embroidery hoop, silk, canvas, collage materials, paints, embroidery thread/needles, scratch paper and pencils, and fabric markers. I’ll provide floral reference images but please bring your own images of flowers if you’d like.

Experience level: This class is for beginners and experienced art-makers alike. If you wish to add embroidery to your piece it's helpful to know how to thread a needle and make a basic stitch before class.

About your teacher: Hi, I’m Courtney! I’ve been a professional artist for 7 years and my style is an ongoing evolution of playing, experimenting, making mistakes and repeating until I create something I love. I love to see my students come to class with an open mind, a bravery to try something new and surprise themselves with what they’re able to create!
