A Sacred Ceremony with Southern Plant Teachers
Temple of Tethered — Gifts of the South is a ceremonial gathering rooted in reverence for the sacred plant medicines of the South. Through prayer, presence, and deep listening, we gather in devotion to the Earth and the ancient intelligence of these allies.
This ceremony honors the same grounded, intentional arc as our Sacrament Circles — held with deep respect for the lineages and wisdom these medicines carry. Each offering invites us to return to ourselves, to the breath, and to the sacred.
The Medicines of the South:
Sananga
We begin with Sananga, a potent eye drop medicine made from the roots of an Amazonian shrub. Known for its sharp intensity and clearing properties, Sananga works to purify both physical and energetic vision — opening the path for insight and clarity.
Bobinsana
A gentle, heart-centered plant spirit often used in dieta, Bobinsana is known for her dreamlike energy, emotional healing, and invitation to soften into the wisdom of the heart.
Hapé
A sacred tobacco snuff made with ash and other plant allies, Hapé is used for grounding, focus, and deep connection to the body and the Earth. It clears stagnant energy and opens a pathway to inner stillness.
Each medicine is offered ceremonially, with guidance and invitation. We honor them not as substances, but as sacred beings.
Gifts of the South is a ceremony of remembrance — a space to be with yourself, in the presence of community and the sacred. Through the wisdom of these plant teachers, we remember what it means to belong to the Earth, to the heart, and to the breath.
