Registration for the 2025 One Water Gathering in Goderich, Ontario is now open!
This international event brings professionals and partners from both sides of Lake Huron together to explore the Canadian lakeshore and celebrate a sustainable future for Lake Huron. Through programming, networking, and outdoor field trips, this full-day event focuses on how we can advance water quality protection and healthy, sustainable communities on both sides of the lake.
This year’s gathering take place in Goderich, Ontario – the first Canadian shoreline community to make the Lake Huron Pledge.
Cost of registration for the day’s programs (including lunch) is $60.00 CDN.

The morning includes a guided walk to water-related projects in and around Goderich. Attendees must be able to walk 3km on various terrains, bring proper footwear, and dress according to weather conditions. A waiver will be available to you at the registration table on the day of that will require your signed acknowledgement of risks associated with the day's activities:
"As a registrant to the One Water Gathering and in consideration of the foregoing, I, myself, my heirs, and executors so hereby release and discharge Lake Huron Forever and all of the LHF’s supporting organizations for all claims, damages, actions, and whatever in any manner arising or growing out of my participation in activities sponsored or organized by the Lake Huron Forever."
Info: The day will begin with registration at the Huron County Museum (110 North St. Goderich).
Info: Registrants should be ready for an active morning walk following sign-in, approximately 6 km in total, which includes a hill - wear your walking shoes! Weather can be changeable, so dress appropriately for wind and precipitation. Special thanks to our guides from Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MCVA), the Lake Huron Coastal Centre (LHCC) and the Town of Goderich. Tour highlights include:
• The Sediment Bypass Project • Goderich bluffs stabilization and the Forest Health Assessment undertaken by MVCA
• Plastic pollution impacts and clean-up history on the Goderich shoreline undertaken by LHCC
• Goderich water treatment plant introduction from the Town of Goderich
Info: A boxed lunch will be provided in the Huron County Museum Lounge. During this time, attendees can visit and engage with project displays by local conservation and water agencies.
Info: Delegates will move to the Museum Theatre to hear speakers on assorted topics including:
• Land acknowledgement of traditional stewards of the lands on which we gather • Dr. Justina Ray, President and Senior scientist at the Wildlife Conservation Society Canada, will speak on the "One Health Approach" - Healthy watersheds, people, and wildlife
• Leigh Griggs from The Sustainability Project and Chris Akiwenzie of Bagida’waad Alliance will introduce “The Natural Edge,” a collaboration with Watersheds Canada, that “restores the ribbon of life” through shoreline restoration and naturalization.
• Leah Noel, Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Environment Committee, Town of Goderich, will introduce the Goderich Lake Huron Forever Pledge, the city’s articulated plan to sustain healthy shoreline.
