A Decade of Snot

SnotBot is turning 10 - and you're invited to the party!

Join Ocean Alliance on July 10th from 4–8 PM at our Gloucester headquarters to celebrate a decade of groundbreaking, non-invasive whale research with our mighty little drone, SnotBot!

Over the past decade, SnotBot has collected 668 samples in 6 countries, from 9 different whale species, helping researchers learn more about whale health and the ocean ecosystem without disturbing these majestic animals. This pioneering tool has been endorsed by Sir Patrick Stewart and called “One of the major reductions in science impact through close boat approaches in the history of marine mammal science" by Michael Moore, Emeritus Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. SnotBot proves that big change can come from small tech.
