This is our easier walk of the month.
Please remember you MUST book a ticket. Places are limited and you can only book via Eventbrite:

(Please do not just select ‘Going’ on FB)
We will meet at 9:45am Shepley St turning circle, and we will head back along Shepley St before taking the footpaths over the fields behind Sheffield Rd and skirting below Shire Hill to reach the path leading down to Mossy Lea farm.
This is a classic Glossop route and a great one to get to know if you're getting into walking.
Towards the end of the walk there will be the option to continue back to the cars or veer off for a short, steep climb up Lightside before dropping into Shittern Clough where the rhododendron should hopefully still be in full bloom.
Please meet 9:45am at the turning circle at the end of Shepley St

Distance:
The Mossy Lea loop is around 2.7 miles, and the extended loop (including Shittern Clough) is 3.7 miles.
Terrain:
We are on proper paths and trails for the whole Mossy Lea loop, crossing farmland fields, woodland trails and established footpaths.
The detour to Shittern Clough is very steep (and a steep descent as we come back the same way), and slightly rougher paths to drop into the clough.
What to bring:
Boots/walking shoes with ankle support , waterproof jacket and your own water. We have lots of spare kit, so ask if you need to borrow anything.
We'll be having a pit stop along the way, for a brew and with snacks provided - but not a lunch. We are usually back by lunchtime, though feel free to bring your own packed lunch if you wish.
Dogs:
Well behaved dogs welcome, but they'll need to be on a short lead in places due to bird nesting season and livestock
