CLASS: Storytelling Workshop with Monica Matsakis

This 4-week Monday evening class runs from July 21-August 11, with a showcase performance for an invited audience of friends and family on Friday, August 15th at 8pm (students meet at 7pm).

Professional storyteller, actor, and writer Monica Matsakis leads this session focused on the art and craft of personal storytelling.

Students will explore the basics of strong story structure, writing for performance, and balancing vulnerability and comedy to develop, practice, and perform compelling and engaging original stories from their own lives.

NOTE: Because this class will move quickly, it is recommended for those with some storytelling or equivalent experience.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Monica Matsakis is a writer, actor, and storyteller who has shared her work at The Moth, Truth Be Told, Story Lab, This Much is True, The Laughing Academy, and more.

Monica believes in the transformative and healing power of live storytelling for both the teller and the audience. Connecting and feeling less alone is at our fingertips when we share our journeys with one another!
