Our time together starts at 9:45 and we usually wrap up around 10:30-10:50.
This year we are splitting into two age groups. This way students are challenged on their own level and can learn from students who may be a little older or younger than them, a very Montessori style approach.
At Berkeley Hills we like to structure the program to fit our families’ needs. While it would be nice to see everyone every week, we get it. We aren’t going to grill you on why you missed “Fun Day School”. Each lesson stands on its own and your child won’t feel left behind if they miss some weeks.
We work hard to make it memorable every week. Last year, we had a race to see which team could carry the stuffed animal on a towel around the building like the people did in Capernaum when they carried and then lowered paralyzed man through the roof to Jesus (Mark 2).
For the lessons in Mark 4, we created a storm in the room with blowing fans and water. We have gone on ‘Search and Find’ missions around the building and picked flowers from the hillside for an art project.
Each week we enjoy a snack together, some weeks we have music with Ms. Pam, we usually create a cool project to take home, and sometimes get to play on the playground or in the teen lounge.
We will be working on a service project at the end of each month to help people in the community and in the church.
We are hoping some parents, grandparents and grown-up people from church will come help us do this important work. God loves when we are helpers like this. Last year we did things like make cards for our homebound members.
We are looking forward to seeing your little ones on the weeks that work for you!
