Glasgow Jazz Festival - Marianne McGregor Album Launch

‘Make Believe’ is the new original album from Scottish Jazz Awards ‘Best Vocalist’ Marianne McGregor. An exciting self-release for 2025, this much anticipated self-penned album was generously funded by Creative Scotland. Marianne writes music autobiographically, about her life and experiences of love, loss and growth. Along with a band of impressive musicians, Marianne uses her instrument to convey a deep personal message that invites each listener into her world. Launching her album with an exciting event at Glasgow Jazz Festival, Marianne McGregor and her six-piece band bring an exquisite sound that blends old jazz with something new, a fresh take on vocal jazz that transcends genre, this promises to be a very special concert.

Marianne McGregor is a powerful voice in UK Jazz, awarded ‘Best Vocalist’ in the Scottish Jazz Award 2023, Marianne has been delighting sell-out audiences with her impressive voice and scat-singing. Using her voice like an instrument, Marianne sings with tone and sincerity that can both break your heart and mend it all in one performance. Alongside her star-studded band of top Scottish jazz players the group embody exciting improvisation and awe-inspiring musicianship.
