Allan Richardson was born in Glasgow in 1965. He is a self-taught artist. He has been a member of Glasgow Print Studio since the early 1990s, and he is fascinated by a variety of printmaking processes. His personal areas of interest are etching, mezzotint, collagraph and linocut. His subject matter is inspired by the beauty of the rich and diverse Scottish landscapes, and the representation of everyday life in the city. Where possible he prefers to gather his source material from life and he can often be seen out and about with his easel and pencils sketching in the West End of Glasgow.
