KINSKINS is an installation by Glasgow-based artist Claire Barclay that explores our physical relationship with printed surfaces. By expanding print onto a larger scale within the gallery, Barclay invites us to reconsider how we encounter printed matter in daily life — not just visually, but through our senses more broadly. The exhibition raises questions about how we assign value to different forms of print. Screen-printed repeats on calico are brought into dialogue with relief prints on fine art paper, highlighting the materiality and versatility of printmaking.

Created in close proximity to the print workshop one floor above, these works draw attention to the processes and rhythms of their own making. Through improvised layering, cutting, masking, and repetition, forms and gestures emerge both consciously and subconsciously, fusing shapes with emotional resonances. Gestural marks and rich textures evoke a sense of aliveness, animating the interrelationships between these suggested bodies and objects.
