Gisborne Medifab Academy: Positioning & Paediatrics

We’re excited to bring you a special Medifab Academy that combines two of our most popular sessions - Lying & Positioning and Paediatrics—into a one-day learning experience.
In the following order form, you will have the option to choose which of these sessions you attend.

9 AM - 12:30 PM

Discover the importance of 24-hour positioning and how supportive lying systems can help prevent postural asymmetry. This interactive session covers key principles of posture management, practical assessment strategies, and hands-on experience trialling lying supports. With real-world case studies and system setups, you’ll leave with greater confidence in applying positioning solutions to everyday practice.

Claire Grey, Occupational Therapist & Clinic Specialist – Medifab

Claire is a Clinic Specialist with extensive experience in seating and posture, working with children and adults in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. She provides practical solutions and guidance on posture and equipment.

1 PM - 3:30 PM

This engaging session focuses on paediatric Assistive Technology (AT), mobility solutions, and safe transport. Explore how to prescribe sitting, standing, stepping, and mobility equipment, while collaborating effectively with families and caregivers. Gain practical tips for everyday use and confidence in supporting children’s functional needs.

Jamie Cockle, Physiotherapist & Paediatric Clinical Educator – Medifab

Jamie is a Paediatric Clinical Educator specialising in seating, positioning, and mobility solutions. He empowers therapists and families with practical knowledge to optimise children’s health and independence.

Info: In this session, we’ll explore the theory behind sleep positioning supports, discussing postural asymmetry and the importance of maintaining a comfortable, supported posture.

Info: Hands-on practice with different sleep positioning supports. You'll gain an understanding of their properties and learn how to select the right product for various situations.

Info: Put your knowledge into action with case studies and hands-on system setup. This session will help build your confidence and deepen your understanding of available products.
