Pollinators 101

Dive into the fascinating world of pollinators with Stephanie Shepherd, Wildlife Diversity Biologist for the Iowa DNR.

From butterflies to bees to beetles and more, discover why these small but mighty beings are such big heroes! The diverse pollinators of Story County play a crucial role in food production, community health, and the environment.

You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for these vital creatures and the challenges they face, then step outside to explore the nearby prairie area, where you can observe pollinators in action and experience their world firsthand.

Be prepared to be outdoors for part of the program (water, sunscreen, hat recommended).
