Georgia Freemasonry
Freemasonry in Georgia dates back to 1734, when Solomon’s Lodge No. 1 was established in Savannah. It is one of the oldest continuously operating lodges in the Western Hemisphere. The Grand Lodge of Georgia was officially formed in 1786, uniting several lodges across the state and laying the foundation for a rich Masonic tradition.
South Carolina Freemasonry
Similarly, South Carolina's Masonic heritage began in 1736 with the founding of Solomon’s Lodge No. 1 in Charleston. The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina was established in 1787, becoming a central institution in spreading and regulating Freemasonry throughout the southern colonies.
