Green & Blue: Irish Americans in the Union Military
Explore the Irish American service in the Union military during the American Civil War. Historian and author Damian Shiels, Ph.D., will focus on Irish Americans who fought and fell at the Battle of Gettysburg. Discover who these men were, where and why they fought and how they experienced and navigated their service in America's greatest conflict.

After the presentation, Dr. Shiels will sign his works, and his latest book, Green and Blue: Irish Americans in the Union Military, 1861-1865 (LSU Press, 2025) will be available to purchase.
