ALL of God’s beloved need safety, security, and belonging to thrive in the world…AND for the LGBTQIA+ community finding safe spaces can truly be a matter of moment-to-moment survival or even life and death. Jesus called us to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12b) which sounds simple in
theory AND yet is nuanced in practice. Using Dr. Debbie’s “SAFE” acronym, this workshop will apply playful and mindful ways that we can… See One AnOTHER, Acknowledge the Ouch, Find the Love, and Educate Our Selves. Much of what we have learned about sex, gender, and sexual orientation is through a binary
AND often biased lens of social conditioning. Through thoughtful dialogue, bibliotherapy, and experiential activities, we will explore our own binary beliefs and ways regarding these constructs AND how they may limit us in ALL relationships. ALL are truly welcome as we learn, unlearn, and play through being a SAFE Space ally for our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ.
