Mosaic Day Hikes Return!
It's been a while ...
On Friday 5th December we'll enjoy the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, starting at the Ein Gedi Field School, and hiking to the Dodim Cave (where the pool is much deeper and more fun as a result of the rainfall last May). The Reserve has been closed for most of the time since then, but some trails have reopened, including the ones Mosaic has chosen for Friday 5th December.
This is a moderate hike, includes a moderately steep ascent at the beginning, a few handrungs, crossing the river on the way to the pool, and is about 6 km of walking.
Bringing swim clothes and water shoes is a great idea! Also you'll need 3 litres of water, hat, sunscreen, hiking boots.
Entry to the Reserve costs 31 shekels (16 for seniors), plus the Mosaic charge of 50 shekels.
Passengers should each give their driver 40 shekels if there are 3 passengers; or more depending on the number of passengers. Thank you drivers!
We plan to begin the hike at 8 am, and finish by 1 pm at the latest.
We'll leave Jerusalem by 7 am and return latest 2 pm
Payment to Mosaic by BIT to Craig's Mosaic account 0523486117
Payment to the Nature Reserve - directly at the ticket office.
Transportation payments - directly to the drivers.
Please let me know if you plan to join this hike, if you'll drive or prefer to be a passenger.
When I see how many cars/passengers we have, I'll send notes letting you know where to park - either at the Ein Gedi Field School parking, or at the end point on the way to Nahal Arugot.
