Offrant un florilège transatlantique de ce que la danse a inspiré aux plus grands musiciens du XXe siècle, l’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève convoque Bartók, Stravinsky et Bernstein : Dans les 'Six Danses populaires roumaines' Béla Bartók met en lumière les couleurs et rythmes traditionnels qu’il a collectés au cours de ses expéditions. La suite tirée du ballet 'L’Oiseau de Feu' d’Igor Stravinsky dévoile un univers féérique nourri par les contes russes. Enfin, tirée de la célèbre comédie musicale, la 'Suite orchestrale' de 'West Side Story' de Leonard Bernstein évoque l’énergie et la sensualité des rues de New York des années 50, entre rythmes effrénés et mélodies entêtantes.

In 'Six Romanian Folk Dances', Béla Bartók spotlights the traditional colours and rhythms he collected during his various trips. The suite from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet 'The Firebird' showcases the shimmering fantasy of Russian folklore. Lastly, the 'Orchestral suite' from 'West Side Story' by Leonard Bernstein evokes the energy and sensuality of 1950s New York, blending pulsing beats with catchy melodies.
