Honoring the Legacy of CPL Carrie French – 20 years of Remembrance

Thursday, June 5, 2025, will mark 20 years since the day we lost CPL Carrie French. To honor her memory, a commemorative display will be placed at the future site of the Idaho Women Veterans Memorial.

The tribute will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the cemetery, located between the columbarium walls on the left just inside the gate. There will be no formal ceremony or speakers—simply a quiet space to pause, reflect, and remember.

Nearly 20 years ago, Carrie’s grave was blanketed in pink roses by her family. In that same spirit, visitors are encouraged to bring a single pink rose to lay at the site. For those unable to bring one, donated roses will be available at the memorial.

A basket will be provided for anyone who wishes to leave a message for Carrie’s family. At the end of the day, all roses and letters will be gathered and delivered to her mother.

Please note: Regular cemetery services will continue throughout the day, and visitors may hear ceremonial honors such as Taps or the rifle salute.
