Misa is the spanish word for Mass. It is one of the words Espiritistas use for these events, others include reunion, session, and to a lesser extent seance. At Misa, we gather and light candles, offer prayers and hear messages from our spirit guides and ancestors via the mediums present.
Everyone will need to bring their own chair. We have a limit of no more than 15 people.
On Sunday, June 22nd, we will meet at River Pointe Park, 6015 N Glenwood St, Garden City, ID 83714 at 2pm for a celebration honoring St. John the Baptist. Bring a dish for potluck and be ready to get wet as we do water cleansings in the river. William will be available for Tarot readings and Spiritual Consultations. This is a free event and open to the public.
* You must email William at
bHlrb3NzdGF2cm9kcm9taWEgfCB5YWhvbyAhIGNvbQ== with the subject line: "Misa" to reserve your space. Do not arrive drunk or otherwise intoxicated.
* Before Misa: Bathe and dress in white clothes; a white shirt and blue jeans is good if white bottoms aren't available. The clothing should be modest, not showing excessive cleavage or plumber's behind, and comfortable (i.e. not skin tight). Don't go heavy on the make-up or hair products, and especially not the perfumes, but use of deodorant is more than welcome. As smell is one of the means by which spirits may relay messages or announce their arrival, strong perfumes can conflict with this. If you choose to wear jewelry, it is best to keep it simple and subtle.
* Everyone will need to bring with them their own white head covering, such as a white bandana that is large enough to cover and secure onto one's head. The head covering will only be put on after the initial cleansings at the start of Misa.
* It is good to eat light prior to Misa, but do eat something before arriving and stay hydrated. This will be a Potluck event, so please bring a dish to share at the end of Misa. If you're unable to bring a dish, don't let that dissuade you from attending.
* At Misa: After you arrive, greet those who are there. Say hi, introduce yourself. Keep the conversations light and enjoyable. It's not the time to be talking about sexual conquests or gossiping about who did what when.
* During Misa: We will begin by going over some ground rules as some, or perhaps many, will be attending Misa for the first time. One of which that is strictly upheld is "What happens at Misa stays at Misa" This helps ensure everyone's privacy and security as the spirits may choose to speak on sensitive and personal matters, never as a means of demeaning, but only to offer advice or to help in the situation. If it helps, think of it like A.A. or N.A.
* After the ground rules we will begin with a headwash and smoke cleanse followed by opening prayers and continuing on.
* After Misa: Enjoyment of food and each other's company. The exact run time of Misa is very unpredictable. I've been to Misas that have lasted minutes, and Misas that have lasted hours. This is also a contributing factor as to why the limit of number of persons.
